Gangzur Wildlife Sanctuary Rufous-Necked Hornbill Trek

"The Gangzur Wildlife Sanctuary in northern Lhuentse protects a transitional zone from warm broadleaf to cool conifer forest harbouring the critically threatened Rufous-necked hornbill, blood pheasants, and satyr tragopan. A guided trek through the sanctuary's lower forest zone follows ridge trails above the Kuri Chhu, pausing at fruiting trees where hornbill flocks congregate in season. The remote sanctuary sees very few visitors, offering an exceptionally raw wilderness experience deep in eastern Bhutan's highlands."
