Phongmey Kishuthara Weaving & Shiitake Farm Visit

"Phongmey gewog in upper Trashigang combines two livelihood traditions unique in Bhutan: a women's cooperative producing the district's distinctive striped kishuthara silk cloth, and a community shiitake cultivation project growing edible mushrooms on oak logs in cool forest. The visit covers the weaving cooperative's production floor — watching artisans set patterns on traditional looms — then moves to the mushroom farm for a hands-on harvesting session, culminating in a mushroom-based lunch at the cooperative's kitchen."
